The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, today reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Expanded Consultative Meeting during a meeting with members of the meeting's Preparatory Committee at the Ministry's headquarters in the interim capital, Aden.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafaei was briefed on the overall progress of organizational and technical preparations, as well as the responsibilities assigned to the various working groups and specialized committees.

The Minister also received an overview of the meeting's preliminary agenda and the progress made in preparing key documents, policy papers, conceptual frameworks, and participant lists. These preparations are intended to ensure that the meeting produces practical outcomes that contribute to strengthening the organization of humanitarian and development efforts in line with actual needs and national priorities.

Minister Al-Yafaei emphasized that the preparations for the Expanded Consultative Meeting represent the culmination of months of consultations, coordination, and sustained efforts undertaken by the Ministry in collaboration with relevant government institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners. He expressed his hope that the meeting would lay the foundation for a new phase of humanitarian and development action based on stronger coordination, greater complementarity, and a unified strategic vision.

The Minister called on members of the Preparatory Committee to ensure thorough planning and preparation for this important event and to deliver it in a manner that reflects its significance and the scale of participation. He stressed the importance of clearly assigning responsibilities, completing all documentation and discussion papers, and adhering to a well-defined implementation timeline.

Minister Al-Yafaei further underscored the need for the proposed plans and frameworks to be realistic, actionable, and results-oriented. He stressed that the meeting's expected outcomes, implementation mechanisms, and follow-up arrangements should be clearly defined to ensure that its recommendations are translated into practical, measurable, and evaluable programs and actions.
