The Social Protection Advisory

Committee held its thirtieth meeting in the capital, Aden, this morning under the slogan “Towards Achieving Sustainable Social Protection”, chaired by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Chairman of the Committee.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Zaouri stressed the need to expedite all technical procedures for preparing the regulatory by-law for managing the Strategic Framework on Social Protection in Yemen for the period 2025–2030, and to submit it to the Council of Ministers as a draft resolution for discussion and official approval in line with the executive mechanisms adopted by the Council.

The Minister valued UNICEF’s support, which played a pivotal role in preparing the Strategic Framework on Social Protection, completed and launched last February under the auspices of the Prime Minister. He also expressed his appreciation to the committee members representing the relevant ministries and national entities for their efforts that culminated in the preparation of this framework, describing it as a significant national and strategic achievement despite the challenges facing the country.

The meeting also discussed the comments submitted by members of the Advisory Committee on the draft regulatory by-law presented by the representative of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, in preparation for its endorsement at the next meeting
