His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, met today with Her Excellency the Ambassador of the French Republic to Yemen, Madame Catherine Corm Kammoun. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance and develop cooperative relations between the two friendly countries in humanitarian and developmental fields of mutual interest.

During the meeting, His Excellency Minister Al-Yafaei reviewed the Ministry’s directions aimed at strengthening social cohesion by supporting community initiatives, particularly those targeting youth and women, through specialized programs linked to cultural and creative work. This contributes to establishing values of coexistence and integration and building communities more capable of facing challenges and achieving stability.

His Excellency the Minister emphasized the importance of supporting policy dialogue and building effective partnerships with civil society organizations. This enhances the Ministry’s coordinative and guiding role at the national level and contributes to unifying efforts to serve social and developmental goals within a framework of transparency and shared responsibility.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance economic empowerment by supporting small and entrepreneurial projects, focusing on creative and handicraft sectors due to their role in creating job opportunities, improving livelihoods, and revitalizing the local economy. Emphasis was placed on the importance of creating a supportive environment encompassing financing, capacity building, and providing technical support and training to enable target groups to achieve economic independence and actively participate in development.

The meeting also touched upon the importance of developing experimental local programs that link social services with urban development priorities. This contributes to increasing the efficiency of interventions, ensuring a more effective response to the needs of local communities, and achieving a sustainable impact that reflects on the quality of services and enhances developmental stability.
