ا Minister Al-Yafaei Discusses with Goldsmiths Association Expanding Employment Opportunities to Enhance Economic Development

Today, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Aden, His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, met with the Board of Directors of the Gold, Silver, and Jewelry Association, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen partnership with the private sector and regulate the labor market in a way that supports sustainable economic development.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the difficulties facing workers in the gold and jewelry sector, foremost among them regulatory procedures and related transactions. The attendees emphasized the importance of facilitating and simplifying procedures in order to improve the business environment, support commercial activity, and encourage investment in this vital sector.
The meeting also addressed ways to develop market regulation mechanisms in a manner that positively reflects on market stability and improves economic performance, in addition to exploring ways to empower workers in the sector and expand employment opportunities related to it, in line with the Ministry’s direction to support the labor market and create sustainable economic opportunities.
Minister Al-Yafaei affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting various professional sectors in a way that strengthens the role of the private sector as a key partner in development. He praised the Association’s efforts in organizing the profession, representing its members, and defending their interests, stressing the importance of moving from traditional roles to effective partnerships based on coordinated efforts and complementary responsibilities.
The Minister also pointed out that the Ministry is moving forward with implementing a comprehensive vision aimed at building a modern work system based on organization and transparency, enhancing economic empowerment, and improving labor market efficiency, in a way that contributes to achieving social stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Association honored the Minister with a commemorative shield in appreciation of his efforts and cooperation in supporting the sector and overcoming the challenges facing its workers.
