Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Meets Acting Executive Director of the Social Fund for Development

His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Mukhtar Al-Yafie, met today in the capital, Aden, with Wissam Qaed, the Acting Executive Director of the Social Fund for Development (SFD). The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jama'i.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the projects implemented by the Social Fund for Development with support from several international organizations and with assistance from brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These projects included the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals, schools, and community infrastructure.
During the meeting, His Excellency Minister Al-Yafie emphasized the importance of directing interventions towards areas of actual need, based on accurate data and field surveys to ensure equitable distribution and efficient targeting. He affirmed the Ministry's support for the Fund and its efforts to enhance social protection and sustainable development.
His Excellency the Minister also highlighted the importance of reassuring international donors by enhancing transparency and oversight, and ensuring that aid reaches all governorates without any irregularities that could compromise the integrity of humanitarian work or affect its developmental trajectory.
For his part, the Acting Executive Director of the Fund appreciated this meeting and the keenness of the Ministry's leadership to strengthen institutional coordination and integration. He affirmed the Fund's continued commitment to expanding its partnerships with international donors and working to implement more effective and sustainable development interventions that meet the needs of the community.
