The election meeting of the Association of Midwives in the southern governorates and liberated areas was held this morning at the office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in Aden, under the patronage of HE Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaoury, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour.

After the supervisory committee confirmed that the quorum was complete, the agenda was reviewed, reports were approved, and proposed amendments to the association's statutes were discussed.

In a democratic atmosphere, the voting process took place, and the elections resulted in the selection of a new administrative body of the association, headed by Magda Abdul Jalil Saif, while Ashwaq Hassan was selected to head the Oversight and Inspection Committee.

The counting process was conducted by the supervisory committee, in the presence of the candidates, to ensure integrity and transparency.

The first meeting of the administrative body and the oversight and inspection committee will be held tomorrow, Thursday.

Founded in September 2004, the National Association of Midwives is a voluntary association that seeks to improve maternal and child health and provide basic care for women and newborns, thereby contributing to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality. The association is financially and administratively independent and is an official non-governmental organisation registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in the capital Aden.
