Minister Al-Yafai Chairs Meeting with Social Welfare Fund Leadership to Discuss Enhancing Social Protection Programs

His Excellency Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Social Welfare Fund (SWF), Mokhtar Al-Yafai, chaired a meeting today at the Ministry's headquarters in the capital, Aden. The meeting included the Executive Director of the Fund, Najla Al-Sayyad, and the directors-general of the Fund's branches in the liberated governorates, to discuss the performance of the branches, the progress of social protection programs, and the key challenges and difficulties facing the Fund's operations.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafai listened to a briefing by the Executive Director and branch directors on the nature of the Fund's operations in the governorates, the level of achievements during the past period, the main needs and obstacles facing workflow, and ways to develop performance and enhance the efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries.
The Minister emphasized the Ministry's keenness to address the various obstacles facing the work of the Social Welfare Fund to ensure the continuity of service delivery. He stressed the importance of regularly submitting monthly reports to enhance monitoring, evaluation, and performance measurement, thereby contributing to higher institutional efficiency.
Minister Al-Yafai pointed out that the current economic and humanitarian conditions in the country require everyone to redouble efforts to alleviate the suffering of citizens, particularly the most vulnerable groups, noting that this remains at the forefront of the Ministry's priorities and social programs.
The meeting also evaluated the performance of the Fund's branches in the liberated governorates and discussed mechanisms for updating the beneficiaries' database to ensure that aid reaches the families most in need, in accordance with transparency and eligibility criteria.
Additionally, the meeting touched upon strengthening coordination between the Ministry and the Fund's branches to unify procedures and develop institutional performance.
