The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional work and improving the performance of the Ministry’s offices across the governorates, in a manner that contributes to enhancing social services and increasing the effectiveness of humanitarian and development interventions.

This came during an expanded meeting held today in Marib Governorate with the Directors General of the Ministry’s offices in the non-liberated governorates, attended by the leadership of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Marib. The meeting discussed the current level of performance, priorities for the next phase, and mechanisms to strengthen coordination between the Ministry and its local offices.

The Deputy Minister stressed the need to activate the role of the offices as the Ministry’s executive link on the ground and to operate according to clear plans and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that contribute to improving performance efficiency and achieving the desired impact. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting and empowering its offices to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

He also highlighted the importance of expanding partnerships with donor agencies and civil society organizations and making the best use of available support opportunities in ways that positively impact targeted groups and enhance responses to social and humanitarian needs.

For his part, the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Marib welcomed the Deputy Minister, expressing appreciation for the Ministry leadership’s commitment to field follow-up and strengthening direct communication with local offices.

He praised the efforts of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in advancing institutional performance within the Ministry, activating the role of governorate offices, and promoting an institutional work approach that contributes to improving the quality of services provided.

The meeting reviewed brief reports on the activities of the offices, the most significant challenges they face, and ways to enhance performance, coordination, and integration among the various offices in support of the Ministry’s objectives and future directions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of continuing regular coordination meetings and following up on the implementation of outcomes and recommendations to further enhance institutional efficiency and improve the level of services delivered.
