Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, underscored the importance of strengthening collaborative efforts and coordination among all relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the Strategic Framework for Social Protection 2025–2030, aimed at addressing the social and economic challenges imposed by the ongoing conflict and achieving sustainable social protection.

The remarks came as Minister Al-Zauri chaired the ministry’s seventh council meeting in the capital, Aden, this morning, which reviewed a number of issues related to the ministry’s various sectors.

During the session, the council discussed reports presented by undersecretaries on progress made in implementing previous directives and decisions, as well as a report from the committee tasked with drafting the organizational bylaw for the Strategic Framework.

The meeting also reviewed updates on the development of the ministry’s electronic platform, the completion of the database procedures, and the standardization of terminology.

Additionally, the council examined the report of the inspection committee on unlicensed employment offices, alongside the labor arbitration committee’s report, which revealed that 49 labor cases had been addressed in its previous sessions. Minister Al-Zauri commended the efforts of the committee’s chair and members in resolving workers’ disputes and safeguarding labor rights.

The council further heard a briefing on participation in the Second Regional Conference on Enhancing Systemic Initiatives to Advance Climate Action in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to a report on efforts to end violence against children in the Arab world.

The meeting concluded with the adoption of a new set of assignments, with related reports to be presented in the next session, after approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
