The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has directed its offices in the liberated governorates to strictly comply with the prohibition on using foreign currencies as an alternative to the national currency in fees related to transactions for local labor seeking employment abroad.
The circular, issued by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, stressed the need to take legal action against employment offices that violate the law, in coordination with local authorities. It also called for the submission of periodic reports on the level of implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (13) of 2025, which prohibits the use of foreign currencies in commercial transactions and service fees.
In another directive, Minister Al-Zaouri instructed the ministry’s offices in the liberated governorates to deposit all occupational health and safety fees directly into the Central Bank, prohibiting any use of these revenues under any pretext, in accordance with the governing laws and regulations. He clarified that the revenues will be redistributed to the ministry’s offices in the liberated governorates, as well as to the Occupational Health and Safety Department at the ministry’s headquarters, in accordance with the percentages stipulated by the relevant laws and regulations
