His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zawari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, issued a message of support and solidarity with the women's protest held yesterday evening at Al-Oroudh Square in the capital, Aden, in which the participants demanded improved services following a period of severe deterioration and complete paralysis.
The message read:
To the free women of the South in our beloved capital Aden and all southern governorates...
With the highest expressions of appreciation and gratitude, I stand in awe of your bravery and resilience. Yesterday, at Al-Oroudh Square in the capital Aden, you drew an honorable picture of struggle that spoke to the suffering of the people, a cry of truth in the face of silence, and a triumph of free speech over neglect and marginalization.
You have reaffirmed that the southern woman has always been, and will continue to be, a beacon of resistance and an essential pillar of revolution and struggle — from the dawn of the first independence to this very day.
You have contributed to shaping history, and today you are making it once more through a proud and dignified stand, reflecting the nobility of your cause, the sincerity of your belonging, and the pain that our people endure — especially in the resilient city of Aden.
Your peaceful demonstration, which called for the most basic human rights — improved services, regular salaries, and respect for human dignity — was more powerful than any political speech and more honest than any statement. Your message was clear and resounding, speaking on behalf of every mother, every teacher, every nurse, and every woman who rises at dawn to struggle for her daily livelihood in the face of harsh conditions and years of neglect and betrayal.
O proud women of the South...
As I salute your heroic stance, I reaffirm my full support for your just demands, my solidarity with your honorable positions, and my commitment to remain with you in the same trench — for the sake of reclaiming rights, restoring the state, and upholding the dignity of people in their land and homeland.
You have rekindled hope and lit the candles of pride in times of darkness. Your voice, pulsing with truth, was louder than all attempts to silence or marginalize it. History will not forget this stand; it will mark it as a pivotal moment in the journey of southern struggle.
To you, we pledge loyalty and faithfulness — and to Aden and its free women, glory and victory.
