Today, His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafie, participated in a virtual meeting organized by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation with the World Bank Group. The meeting was part of an extensive consultation session to discuss the new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the period (2026–2030).

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Ministers of Electricity and Energy, Water and Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries, Education, Public Works and Roads, Industry and Trade, and Public Health and Population, along with leadership from the Central Bank of Yemen, a number of government officials, and representatives of the World Bank Group.

In his speech during the meeting, His Excellency Minister Al-Yafie emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the government and the World Bank Group to support social protection programs and improve the level of services provided to citizens, especially in light of the economic and humanitarian challenges the country is facing.

His Excellency the Minister stressed the necessity of directing international financing towards sectors directly related to the lives of citizens, primarily social protection and care programs for the most vulnerable groups. He affirmed that strengthening these programs represents a fundamental step to support economic recovery and enhance societal stability. He also pointed to the government's aspiration to expand areas of cooperation with the World Bank to bolster the capabilities of national institutions and contribute to a gradual transition from the humanitarian response phase to the path of sustainable development.

For her part, the Director of the World Bank Group Office in Yemen, Dina Abu-Ghaida, reviewed the key features of the proposed partnership framework for the upcoming period, noting that the Bank's programs over the past years have contributed to providing numerous services in the areas of health, water, and supporting several vital sectors in the country.
