Minister Al-Yafei Stresses the Importance of Regulating the Work of Organizations and Ensuring the Fair Distribution of Humanitarian Interventions in Taiz

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, met today at the Ministry's headquarters in the interim capital, Aden, with the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Taiz Governorate, Fuad Al-Faqih, to review the office's performance, the level of coordination between the Ministry and its branch office in the governorate, and a number of issues related to regulating the work of organizations and associations in a manner that enhances the quality of social services.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafei received a comprehensive briefing from the Director General of the Taiz Office on the office's ongoing activities, the implementation of its assigned responsibilities, and the procedures for registering and regulating organizations and associations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The discussion also covered coordination mechanisms with local authorities and organizations operating in the governorate, as well as the key challenges and current needs, in addition to the efforts being made to strengthen institutional performance and improve monitoring and evaluation.
Minister Al-Yafei emphasized the importance of the Ministry and its branch offices serving as the official and primary gateway for regulating the work of both local and international organizations, ensuring that their interventions are aligned with national priorities and the needs of local communities. He also stressed the importance of timely reporting and strengthening oversight of the activities of organizations and associations.
The Minister further underscored the need to ensure the equitable distribution of humanitarian interventions across all districts of Taiz Governorate based on actual needs assessments, guaranteeing that assistance reaches its intended beneficiaries without discrimination. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing partnership and coordination among the Ministry, its office in the governorate, local authorities, and humanitarian partners in order to serve the public interest and achieve the desired sustainable development impact.
