Under the generous patronage of Major General Sultan bin Ali Al-Aradah, Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib Governorate, and His Excellency Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, an expanded consultative meeting for civil society organizations was held in Marib Governorate.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sadiq Al-Jamaei, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mr. Abdullah Al-Bakri, Deputy Governor of Marib Governorate, the Director General of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib, and a wide range of representatives from civil society organizations and humanitarian and development partners.

At the opening session, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jamaei delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, to the participants. He emphasized the vital role played by civil society organizations as key partners in development and humanitarian response, noting that the current phase requires enhanced coordination and integration among all stakeholders and the adoption of institutional approaches that improve the efficiency of interventions and achieve more sustainable impact.

Dr. Al-Jamaei explained that the Ministry is working to support governance and institutional development initiatives, strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations, and improve operational mechanisms to ensure quality performance and compliance with administrative and organizational standards.

For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Bakri, Deputy Governor of Marib, delivered a speech conveying the greetings of the local authority leadership in the governorate. He affirmed the governorate leadership’s commitment to supporting and empowering civil society organizations to fulfill their developmental and humanitarian roles as important partners in serving the community and responding to citizens’ needs.

Al-Bakri noted that Marib Governorate represents a model of integration between government institutions and civil society organizations. He stressed that the next phase requires greater institutional work, stronger governance practices, and enhanced coordination and planning capacities to better direct efforts toward development priorities and achieve sustainable impact.

He also highlighted the importance of building effective partnerships based on transparency, shared responsibility, and complementary roles, thereby enhancing organizations’ ability to respond to challenges and expand the scope of services provided to the community.

During the meeting, the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib presented an overview of its key efforts over the past period in strengthening institutional work, implementing programs and activities, expanding cooperation and partnerships with civil society organizations and partners, and developing coordination mechanisms to support development objectives and humanitarian response efforts.

The meeting concluded with a number of recommendations emphasizing the importance of promoting governance and institutional work, strengthening partnerships between government entities and civil society organizations, and improving performance to achieve sustainable development and meet community needs..
