Minister Al-Zouari Emphasizes Importance of Strengthening Arab Cooperation to Support the Resilience of the Palestinian People

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zouari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and President of the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference, affirmed the importance of enhancing Arab cooperation to support the resilience of the Palestinian people. He stressed the need to strengthen ties between the ministries of social affairs and labor in Arab countries as a pivotal step toward achieving social justice and sustainable development.


This came during his meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, Her Excellency Dr. Enas Dahadha Al-Attari, Minister of Labor of Palestine, on the sidelines of the ongoing Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.


His Excellency Al-Zouari emphasized that the Palestinian cause remains at the heart of Arab priorities, particularly in light of the social and economic challenges facing the region. He affirmed that cooperation between Yemen and Palestine in the fields of social affairs and labor is essential to address shared challenges, foremost among them unemployment, poverty, and inequality, which would contribute to improving working conditions and ensuring a dignified life for the Palestinian people.


For her part, Her Excellency Minister Al-Attari expressed her deep appreciation to Dr. Al-Zouari for his continued support of the Palestinian cause through his leadership of the Arab Labor Conference. She noted that strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people requires serious Arab solidarity to enable them to confront occupation, displacement, and the consequences of poverty.


The meeting concluded with both sides affirming the importance of preserving the Palestinian national identity and enhancing the cohesion of Palestinian society to ensure the attainment of its legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.


Minister Al-Attari also extended her sincere gratitude to Dr. Al-Zouari for his effective leadership of the Arab Labor Conference and wished him continued success in his duties.

Ministries of Social Affairs and Transport Discuss Draft of Yemen’s Accession to the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC)

Al-Zawari: Society Faces a Grave Humanitarian Challenge… and 600,000 Food Baskets to Alleviate the Suffering

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zawari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, affirmed that society is now living in a state of extreme poverty, with the overwhelming majority of citizens falling into the "crushed class" that urgently needs social assistance. He pointed out that the country is going through a dangerously critical economic and humanitarian situation. The minister explained that the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan, led by OCHA, aims to raise no less than $2 billion to fill the funding gap for humanitarian aid. However, only about 11%, equivalent to $275 million, has been raised, in addition to $45 million from other entities—reflecting the scale of the challenge and confirming that the humanitarian situation is likely to deteriorate further.
