His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mokhtar Al-Yafei, met today in the capital, Aden, with Dr. Akram Al-Saqqaf, Executive Director of the Bazara’a Development Charitable Foundation, to discuss strengthening partnerships and advancing humanitarian, developmental, and charitable interventions.

The meeting reviewed the foundation’s activities and programs across several governorates, its role in supporting the most vulnerable groups, and the nature of its interventions in the education and health sectors. This includes scholarship programs and efforts to facilitate students’ access to education, in addition to project reports and associated initiatives implemented by the foundation.

Minister Al-Yafei emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between the ministry and civil society organizations within a unified national vision based on real needs. He noted that such coordination would enhance the efficiency of interventions and improve the quality of services, stressing the need for fairness in project distribution and ensuring that aid reaches the most vulnerable populations.

The minister also praised the humanitarian and charitable role played by the Bazara’a Foundation, affirming the ministry’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for charitable work by providing necessary facilitation, promoting transparency, and encouraging healthy competition to maximize developmental impact.

He further referred to an upcoming consultative meeting to be held in the near future with the participation of local and international partners. The meeting will address challenges facing humanitarian and development work, explore ways to overcome them, unify visions for more coherent policymaking, and develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the social protection system based on institutional partnerships and knowledge exchange.

For his part, Dr. Al-Saqqaf outlined the foundation’s key programs and future plans, highlighting its intention to expand in the fields of education and healthcare, and to strengthen scholarship programs. These efforts aim to ease the burden on low-income families. He also emphasized the foundation’s commitment to building an effective partnership with the ministry through coordination, priority-setting, and directing interventions toward the most urgent needs to ensure efficient implementation and sustainable impact.

The meeting was also attended by Eng. Omar Al-Haddar, Director of the Aden Office of the Bazara’a Development Charitable Foundation.
