The Ministry of Social Affairs discusses with UNICEF the launch of the National Plan for the Protection of Vulnerable Children 2025-2027.

Under the directives of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the Deputy Minister for the Social Welfare Sector, Mr. Saleh Mahmoud Hassan, met this morning in the capital, Aden, with Ahmed Abdel Daim, Head of the Child Protection Section at UNICEF, Mujib Sultan, Protection Officer, and Anwar Basharahil, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The meeting discussed the progress made on the joint plan for 2024 within the framework of the positive partnership between the Ministry and UNICEF, as well as the achievements of recent years, including the launch of the Strategic Framework for Social Protection in Yemen (2025-2030). Additionally, the meeting covered UNICEF's Child Protection Plan for 2025-2026.


Deputy Minister Saleh Mahmoud Hassan emphasized the Ministry’s commitment, under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, to strengthening this partnership to achieve further success in the future. He highlighted that Minister Al-Zauri, during the launch of the Strategic Framework for Social Protection in Yemen at the end of last month, affirmed that this achievement is the result of an effective and distinguished partnership between the Ministry and UNICEF.


During the meeting, it was confirmed that the technical procedures for launching the National Plan for the Protection of Vulnerable Children (2025-2027) would be completed by the end of February.


The meeting also discussed various proposals related to updating the case management system and projects and activities aimed at protecting the population, especially vulnerable children.


The meeting was attended by Ihab Babresh, Director General of Social Defense, and Muniya Al-Azzani, Director General of Social Assistance.
