The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, met today in Aden with the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, to discuss ways to strengthen joint coordination between the two ministries in support of humanitarian and charitable institutions and centers, and to help ease the operational burdens affecting their activities in the social and humanitarian sectors.

The meeting reviewed mechanisms for facilitating electricity services for humanitarian and charitable institutions and centers, including the discussion of adopting a suitable electricity tariff for their consumption, enabling them to continue providing humanitarian and social services to citizens across the liberated governorates.

Minister Al-Yafei stressed the importance of supporting humanitarian and social institutions and centers that provide direct services to the most vulnerable groups. He noted that reducing their operational burdens — particularly electricity costs — would positively impact the quality of services delivered to beneficiaries and enhance the sustainability of their humanitarian and development interventions.

For his part, Minister Al-Kaf affirmed the Ministry of Electricity and Energy’s commitment to coordinating with relevant government entities to study possible solutions and measures that would support humanitarian and service sectors and contribute to the stability and continuity of essential services.
