Today, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mokhtar Al-Yafei, met with representatives of the Businessmen’s Club to discuss ways to strengthen partnership between the government and the private sector, and to support development efforts and economic stability.

Minister Al-Yafei praised the role of businessmen during the crises the country has experienced, particularly the floods that recently struck Aden and several other governorates. He noted that they played a strong and active role, assuming their responsibilities during difficult times, and affirmed the Ministry’s support for charitable activities and its commitment to providing the necessary facilitation for such efforts.

The Minister stressed that the success of the state is closely linked to the presence of an active private sector as a key partner. He emphasized the importance of integrating roles and highlighted the Ministry’s direction toward modernizing its work and keeping pace with the technological revolution, including the digitalization of services to enhance efficiency and make them more accessible to beneficiaries.

He also commended the Club’s role in capacity building, training, and professional development through the provision of programs, workshops, and educational resources. He stressed the importance of aligning these initiatives with labor market needs in order to expand employment opportunities for young people both locally and abroad.

The Minister further explained that the Ministry is working on preparing and implementing plans to regulate the labor market and safeguard the rights of both workers and employers. He also pointed to the issuance of a decision regarding the employment of persons with disabilities and stressed the importance of circulating and implementing it across various institutions.

For their part, representatives of the Businessmen’s Club reviewed the Club’s goals and vision in building strong networks, strengthening partnerships with government entities, developing members’ capacities, supporting sustainable development, and empowering entrepreneurs, all in ways that contribute to improving the business environment and enhancing economic stability.
