Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Holds Meeting to Follow Up on the Preparation of the National Social Protection Strategy

His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, chaired a meeting today in the capital, Aden, for the Supervisory Committee for Social Protection. The meeting was attended by Engineer Ramzi Saeed, Social Policy Officer at the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Aden. This comes within the framework of following up on the progress of work in preparing the National Social Protection Strategy.
During the meeting, His Excellency Minister Al-Yafei listened to a briefing from the Supervisory Committee on the level of progress made in preparing the strategy and the steps implemented within its preparation phases. He was also briefed on the efforts made in preparing the general framework of the strategy and identifying its main tracks, in addition to reviewing the outputs of the committees' work and previous reports with the aim of benefiting from them in developing the strategy's content and strengthening its foundations.
His Excellency the Minister emphasized the importance of completing the preparation of the National Social Protection Strategy as a comprehensive national framework for organizing social protection policies, thereby contributing to enhancing the efficiency of programs targeting the most needy groups. He stressed the necessity of fulfilling the requirements for its preparation according to a clear methodology based on data, indicators, and successful experiences in this field.
His Excellency the Minister reaffirmed the ministry's keenness to strengthen partnership with various international partners, foremost among them UNICEF, given that these partnerships represent an important pillar in developing social policies and expanding the scope of care and protection programs for the most vulnerable groups. He underscored the importance of integrating efforts and coordinating roles to prepare sustainable programs and initiatives that contribute to enhancing community stability.
