His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, conducted an inspection visit today to the headquarters of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in the capital, Aden. The visit aimed to assess workflow, evaluate the level of services provided to persons with special needs, identify the challenges affecting operations, and explore appropriate solutions to address them.

The visit, accompanied by the Deputy Minister Dr. Sadiq Al-Jamaei, the Minister’s Advisor for Disability Affairs I‘tidal Abdulhamid Salam, and the Undersecretary for the Social Care Sector Saleh Mahmoud, included a field tour of the relevant departments and divisions. The delegation reviewed the quality of services delivered and the number of beneficiaries, and visited the Disability and Psychological Support Hospital building, the Physiotherapy Center, as well as the surgery departments, clinics, pharmacies, and laboratories affiliated with it. They also toured the expansion building, which has been rehabilitated through the Fund’s self-financing.

During the visit, Minister Al-Yafaei extended his congratulations to staff on the occasion of the advent of the holy month, emphasizing the vital national and humanitarian role played by the Fund in serving persons with special needs, who represent an essential segment of society. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to this group and its support for the health and educational services provided to them, in a manner that ensures their social inclusion and full enjoyment of their rights.

The Minister also called for intensified efforts and teamwork, facilitating services for beneficiaries, and delivering improved services in the coming phase. He urged all concerned to set clear priorities within plans and programs, and to regularly submit periodic and annual reports along with development proposals, contributing to enhanced institutional performance and improved service quality.

Furthermore, the Minister stressed the importance of oversight of associations and institutions while facilitating their work, and strengthening coordination with various supporting government entities to bolster the Fund’s operations. He also expressed support for digital case management programs to facilitate the work of associations in the liberated governorates and enhance the efficiency of service delivery.

For her part, the Fund’s Executive Director, Dr. Najwa Fadl, presented the Fund’s general plan for 2026, which includes mechanisms to improve revenues and programs to enhance institutional performance. She affirmed that the administration is working to expand the scope of health and social services and to develop operational mechanisms to elevate the quality of services provided to persons with special needs in Aden and the liberated governorates.
