The Council of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Reviews Achievement Reports and Approves a Number of Assignments

The Ministerial Council of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor held its regular meeting today, Sunday, at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, to discuss performance reports and the level of progress in projects and programs included within the work plans of the ministry’s sectors.


The Council stressed the need to expedite the completion of prepared studies for priority projects, in preparation for submitting them to the Council of Ministers for approval.


The meeting also discussed the circular issued by the Prime Minister regarding the use of the local currency, where the Council assigned the sector undersecretaries to circulate the decision and conduct field visits to ensure compliance with its provisions. The financial affairs department was tasked with preparing a list of institutions and centers that have failed to deposit their revenues into the Central Bank.


The meeting also heard a presentation from the Undersecretary of the Social Welfare Sector regarding the launch of the National Child Protection Plan 2026–2028 and the detailed program for its inauguration, which will take place under the patronage of the Prime Minister.


Additionally, the Council was briefed by the Information Systems Department on the final preparations for launching the ministry’s electronic platform. The Council emphasized the need to swiftly resolve technical issues so that the sectors and users of the platform can enter the required information effectively.


The Deputy Director of the Disabled Care Fund presented the fund’s plan to enhance the capacities of its employees through specialized training programs and workshops, stressing coordination with disability associations to obligate them to submit accurate and detailed statistical data according to geographic distribution.


The Council commended the bold decisions of the Prime Minister regarding the transfer of the administration of the Social Fund for Development to the capital, Aden, considering it an important step within the government’s efforts to relocate the headquarters of international organizations, institutions, and official funds from Sana’a to Aden.


The Council also discussed a number of issues related to the ministry’s sectors and adopted a set of decisions and assignments, the implementation progress of which will be reviewed in the next meeting.


The meeting had commenced with the review of the minutes of the previous session, which were discussed and ratified after reviewing the tasks that had been completed.
