His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Za'ouri, inaugurated this morning in the capital, Aden, the first "Safe Spaces Bazaar" for women and girls. This bazaar is part of the "Livelihood Services Provision Project for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls," under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Za'ouri and funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

His Excellency Minister Al-Za'ouri toured the bazaar's pavilions, which included sections for hairdressing and tailoring, food industries and pastries, and incense and perfume making. These activities fall within the Livelihoods Project aimed at developing the skills of women and girls to support them economically and promote self-reliance.

The bazaar also featured a dedicated social support corner to assist the most vulnerable women in facing social and economic challenges and to raise awareness about combating gender-based violence.

Minister Al-Za'ouri praised the high level of organization of the bazaar. He called on the women and girls in the Safe Spaces program to benefit from it and to activate their potentials in line with the requirements of life and development, enabling the beneficiaries to transform their advantages into income-generating projects to achieve economic empowerment.

For her part, Professor Faizah Abdul-Majid, Acting Undersecretary of the Social Development Sector, confirmed that this bazaar was held to meet the aspirations of women survivors and those at risk of violence. It also coincides with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The Livelihoods Project represents a safe birth and the empowerment they attain within this safe space.

Professor Faizah added that the Safe Space provides them with social and psychological services, legal consultations, as well as training skills in fields such as tailoring, hairdressing, and others.

Professor Faizah invited any girl or woman in need of assistance and diverse services to join the Safe Space, emphasizing that the Ministry's doors are open.
