Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Discusses Enhancing the Effectiveness of Humanitarian and Development Interventions with Yemen Aid Organization

His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, met today in the capital, Aden, with Yemen Aid Organization to discuss ways to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian and development interventions in a manner that helps meet the actual needs of targeted communities.
The Minister listened to a presentation on the organization’s programs in the fields of health, nutrition, water, education, and food security, in addition to its efforts to support livelihoods. The presentation also highlighted the impact these programs have had in beneficiary areas, as well as ongoing projects, periodic reports, studies, future plans, and lists of beneficiaries.
Minister Al-Yafaei stressed the importance of expanding interventions based on actual needs, avoiding duplication of projects, and aligning them with the government’s overall priorities in order to improve the efficient use of resources. He also affirmed the ministry’s support for all active organizations working on the ground.
The Minister further emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional coordination and effective partnerships to help overcome challenges and achieve a more efficient and sustainable humanitarian and development response. He also called for the involvement of qualified national personnel in implementing programs in order to strengthen local capacity-building and support long-term development.
