His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mokhtar Al-Yafei, met today in the capital, Aden, with representatives of Tamdeen Shabab Foundation to discuss ways to strengthen partnership and joint coordination in order to improve humanitarian response mechanisms and support economic empowerment and sustainable development.

During the meeting, a number of key topics were reviewed, most notably enhancing the role of local organizations, empowering youth and women, and strengthening joint coordination mechanisms among various stakeholders, in a way that contributes to improving the efficiency of humanitarian and development responses.

Minister Al-Yafei stressed the importance of civil society organizations being informed about government plans and programs and working within their framework to achieve integration and direct interventions toward national priorities. He also emphasized the need to develop advocacy plans that strengthen the role of local organizations in implementing programs efficiently and effectively.

The Minister pointed out that the role of the ministry is not limited to regulating and monitoring community work, but also extends toward building an effective partnership with civil society organizations that contributes to the development of public policies and the formulation of plans and strategies. He emphasized the importance of involving all stakeholders in preparing strategies in a way that enhances implementation efficiency and achieves the desired impact.

For his part, the Director of Tamdeen Shabab Foundation, Bassam Al-Hakimi, praised the meeting and affirmed the foundation’s commitment to strengthening partnership with the ministry and working as an active partner in implementing humanitarian and development initiatives, as well as supporting government directions and plans.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for the Development Sector, Faiza Abdulmajid.
