Minister Al-Yafaei Discusses with Southern Leaders Ways to Strengthen Unity and Ensure the Success of Southern Dialogue Wednesday, May 6, 2026

His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, met today in the capital, Aden, with a number of southern leaders. During the meeting, they reviewed the movements and meetings conducted by the leadership at both the domestic and international levels, within the framework of efforts aimed at strengthening southern unity.
The meeting addressed the latest developments regarding the anticipated Southern Dialogue scheduled to be held in the capital, Riyadh, under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Emphasis was placed on the importance of ensuring the success of the dialogue in a way that contributes to unifying visions, overcoming differences, prioritizing the public interest, and listening to diverse perspectives, thereby enhancing the chances of reaching shared understandings that serve the cause of the southern people.
The meeting also stressed the importance of creating a suitable environment for the success of the dialogue by introducing a number of economic and service-related measures that would help build trust, in addition to addressing the conditions of members of the southern forces and security agencies, with the need for continuous follow-up to ensure the implementation of these measures.
His Excellency the Minister underscored the importance of the attendees fulfilling their national and historic roles, as they are among the founding leaders of the Southern Movement since its inception. He called on them to assume their responsibilities during this sensitive phase the country is going through, by reassuring influential elites and strengthening communication with them through various meetings and forums, thereby contributing to building trust and supporting the dialogue process.
The Minister also listened to a number of ideas and proposals presented by the attendees, which would help advance the dialogue and enhance citizens’ confidence in its outcomes. He affirmed that these observations are valued and appreciated, and will be studied, with the necessary measures to be taken accordingly.
