A meeting was held this morning in the capital, Aden, to discuss the achievement report for activities carried out in 2024, with the participation of members of the Advisory Committee, the National Team, and the Aden Working Group.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Faiza Abdulmajid, Head of the National Team for the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security, welcomed the participants and conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zawari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Plan, along with his wishes for success in their tasks.
Ms. Faiza expressed her satisfaction with the accomplishments made over the past year in implementing activities and programs focused on women, praising the support of Minister Al-Zawari and his facilitation of the committee’s work despite various challenges. She also commended the positive engagement of the Advisory Committee members, the National Team, and the Aden Working Group, affirming their prominent role in executing the majority of the plan’s activities.
She extended her thanks to the international expert Dr. E'timad Mattar, the local expert Abeer No’man, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for their support and funding in implementing the plan.
The meeting included a review of the activities and programs implemented in 2024, which featured various events such as training sessions and meetings focusing on gender policy issues within some ministries of the National Team, as well as specialized courses for judges and public prosecutors from the Ministry of Justice and the Public Prosecution.
A visual presentation was also given on the Gender Data Platform for the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda for the Ministries of Justice and Social Affairs. This platform aims to collect gender-related data from various relevant ministries and institutions.
