His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, met today, Tuesday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Mr. Mustafa Al-Kinzi. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jama'i.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the ministry and the fund, and ways to enhance the partnership in humanitarian and developmental fields. This aims to contribute to supporting the ministry's plans to develop the social protection system and enhance the response to the increasing needs in various governorates.
His Excellency Minister Al-Yafei affirmed the ministry's keenness to facilitate the tasks of United Nations organizations and all international and local organizations operating in the country, to ensure the efficient and transparent implementation of their programs. He pointed out that the ministry, in this regard, has ambitious plans and visions that are realistic, feasible, and responsive to the priorities of the current stage.
His Excellency the Minister stressed the importance of the ministry being the main gateway for the work of civil society organizations, to ensure the regulation of work, coordination of efforts, and achievement of sustainability in implemented projects. He emphasized the necessity of directing interventions to their rightful beneficiaries in all governorates and avoiding any imbalances that could affect the integrity of humanitarian work or its developmental path.
The Minister listened to an explanation from Mr. Al-Kinzi about the fund's areas of work and its interventions in sustainable development paths, and the nature of its partnerships with government agencies and civil society organizations. Mr. Al-Kinzi affirmed the fund's keenness to enhance cooperation with the ministry and relevant authorities to contribute to the success of its humanitarian and developmental missions.
