His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, today inspected the Safe Childhood Center in the capital, Aden, to review the progress of work and the level of care provided to children, and to identify the center’s needs and its programs in the areas of education, accommodation, and social support.

Minister Al-Yafei listened from those in charge of the center to an explanation about the nature of the educational, social, living, recreational, and training programs it provides, the curricula and educational means used, and the activities aimed at developing the children’s abilities and skills, in addition to the most prominent needs and difficulties facing the progress of work.

Minister Al-Yafei affirmed the ministry’s interest in strengthening the system for the protection and care of children and providing a safe and supportive environment that guarantees them education, rehabilitation, and psychological and social care, contributes to developing their abilities, and prepares them for integration into the family and society. He praised the efforts made by those in charge of the center and its volunteers, and the care and attention they provide to the children despite the challenges and limited resources.

Minister Al-Yafei pointed out the necessity of raising the level of educational and rehabilitation programs and means, as well as accompanying activities, in a manner that enhances the quality of care and supports the child’s growth and the development of their abilities and skills. He affirmed the ministry’s keenness to follow up on the center’s needs and coordinate with the relevant authorities in a way that enables it to perform its social and humanitarian mission efficiently.

Minister Al-Yafei toured the classrooms, accommodation rooms, and various facilities of the center, and reviewed the level of the environment prepared for the children’s residence and education. He also followed part of the activities they carry out and listened to the observations of those in charge of the center regarding the needs for developing the care and education environment and improving the level of services provided to the children.
