His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, discussed today with the Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Abyan Governorate, Yahya Al-Yazidi, the situation of the office, the progress of work therein, and ways to develop its performance.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafaei listened to an explanation of the most prominent difficulties and challenges facing the work of the office and its needs, the readiness of its buildings and affiliated centers, and the level of coordination with the entities implementing projects in the governorate, in addition to a number of proposals aimed at strengthening its institutional presence.

Minister Al-Yafaei stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the ministry’s offices in the governorates and enabling them to carry out their tasks and responsibilities, as they constitute the executive arm of the ministry, and of coordinating with them in implementing projects and activities related to the ministry’s sectors of work. This would contribute to organizing interventions, reducing duplication, and ensuring that they are directed according to the actual needs and priorities in the governorates.

Minister Al-Yafaei pointed to the ministry’s keenness to follow up on the needs of the Abyan Office and work to address the difficulties it faces, and to enhance coordination between the office and the relevant entities, funds, and centers, in a manner that raises performance efficiency, improves the level of services, and develops institutional work in the governorate.
