Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Discusses with Aden Community Committees Leadership Ways to Activate Community Engagement

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, today discussed with Brigadier General Ali Al-Numairi, Chairman of the Community Committees in the capital, Aden, and his deputy, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al-Shaw‘i, ways to strengthen community engagement in a manner that enhances services to citizens and supports local development efforts.
The minister was briefed on the efforts undertaken by the community committees and their complementary roles with local councils and relevant authorities in addressing community issues and needs, as well as their role in raising awareness, preserving social cohesion, and encouraging voluntary initiatives.
Minister Al-Yafei emphasized the importance of revitalizing community engagement and fostering a culture of shared responsibility. He highlighted the need to capitalize on the committees’ close connection with citizens to raise awareness and strengthen social cohesion, commending their field-level efforts across the capital, Aden.
He noted that community committees constitute an integral part of the work of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, stressing that the ministry is committed to organizing and supporting their activities and directing initiatives and programs toward serving the community and achieving a tangible and sustainable impact.
For their part, Al-Numairi and Al-Shaw‘i reviewed the key activities carried out by the community committees across the districts of the capital, Aden. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation with the ministry and further developing their work in line with the needs of the community and in the service of citizens.
