Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Reviews the Activities of the Yafa Charitable and Development Association Monday, August 17, 2026

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mukhtar Al-Yafei met today at the Ministry’s headquarters with Dr. Qasim Al-Asbahi, Chairman of the Yafa Charitable and Development Association, and members of the Association’s administrative board to discuss its charitable and development activities and programs, as well as ways to enhance its interventions in line with the actual needs of its target groups. The meeting also addressed expanding the scope of the Association’s services and reaching a larger number of beneficiaries.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafei was briefed on the Association’s key activities and initiatives in the social, educational, and cultural fields, as well as its efforts to support families in need and provide sponsorship and care for orphans. The discussion also covered its cooperation with a number of institutions and centers, along with its plans to develop its resources and make effective use of available capacities in ways that contribute to the sustainability of its work.
Minister Al-Yafei underscored the important role played by civil society organizations in serving their communities and stressed the need to develop their programs in accordance with actual needs and priorities. He noted that this would help improve the efficiency of resource utilization and generate a tangible impact for the targeted groups.
Al-Yafei further emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional work, complying with legal and regulatory frameworks, and promoting transparency in the management of activities. He also highlighted the need to develop clear and feasible projects, which would enhance the effectiveness of civil society organizations and strengthen their role in advancing development and social action.
For his part, the Chairman of the Association outlined the main challenges facing its operations, as well as efforts to diversify the Association’s sources of funding and improve its working mechanisms. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to continuing its activities through cooperation and coordination with relevant authorities and institutions.
