On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day,

On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those working in the humanitarian field, foremost among them our national personnel who stand on the front lines, saving lives and providing assistance to those in need amid the most difficult circumstances facing the country.
On this occasion, we reaffirm the Government’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive environment for humanitarian work, upholding its principles, neutrality, and operational independence, and facilitating the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need, without obstruction or discrimination. Humanitarian action is a noble mission that transcends borders and affiliations, placing the human being, their life, and their dignity above all else.
At the same time, we condemn the continued targeting by the Houthi terrorist militias of humanitarian personnel and aid workers, as well as the restrictions imposed upon them and the obstruction of their work. We reiterate our call for an immediate end to the practice of arbitrary detention and for the immediate release of all humanitarian workers currently being held by them.
Protecting humanitarian workers means protecting a mission upon which millions of people in need depend. Humanitarian action must never be drawn into conflicts or exploited as a means of pressure or blackmail. Rather, it must remain a safe and neutral space in which all come together around one shared purpose: protecting people, saving lives, and preserving human dignity.
