Minister Al-Yafai Discusses the Conditions of Al-Noor Center and Confirms the Approval of 63 Positions for the Blind

His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafai, discussed today, at the Ministry’s General Office, with Majida Hazza, Director of Al-Noor Center for the Blind affiliated with the Ministry in the capital, Aden, the conditions of the center and its needs, as well as the efforts being made to improve its services and strengthen its role in caring for and rehabilitating blind people.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Yafai listened to an explanation about the progress of the educational process at the center, the programs for integrating blind students into public schools, literacy and training programs, in addition to the challenges facing the center’s work and its needs in terms of equipment, infrastructure development, and vocational rehabilitation programs in a manner appropriate to the capabilities of blind people and the requirements of the labor market.
Minister Al-Yafai affirmed the Ministry’s اهتمام in matters concerning persons with disabilities and its keenness to ensure that they obtain their rights and to enhance opportunities for their empowerment and effective participation in society, noting that the Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance has approved 63 positions for blind people, and that work is underway to complete the necessary procedures to benefit from them.
Minister Al-Yafai pointed to the importance of working in coordination with the relevant authorities, foremost among them the Ministry of Education, to address the difficulties related to the educational aspect, organize institutional roles, and provide the appropriate environment that enables blind students to continue their education and benefit from the available opportunities on an equal basis with their peers.
