Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mukhtar Al-Yafaei today inspected the Ministry’s office in the capital, Aden, to assess the level of administrative and service performance, review mechanisms for processing citizens’ transactions, and identify the key needs and challenges facing various departments and sections.

Accompanied by Arslan Al-Saqqaf, Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the capital, Aden, Minister Al-Yafaei toured a number of departments and sections to review the progress of tasks related to labor relations, legal affairs, employment, labor inspection, occupational safety and health, as well as activities involving civil society organizations and institutions. He also reviewed records and ongoing transactions and listened to employees explain the nature of their duties, service-delivery procedures, and the difficulties they encounter. The Minister directed that shortcomings be addressed and overall performance enhanced.

Minister Al-Yafaei called for expediting the processing of citizens’ transactions, simplifying procedures, and removing obstacles facing service applicants. He stressed the need to address issues concerning workers and employers in accordance with the law, in a manner that safeguards rights and regulates relations among the parties to the labor process. He also underscored the importance of facilitating transactions for civil society organizations and institutions and strengthening the office’s role in regulating and monitoring their activities in accordance with applicable legislation.

Minister Al-Yafaei further emphasized the importance of activating labor inspection, strengthening occupational safety and health measures, and monitoring compliance with legislation governing the labor market. He noted the need to update data and statistics and make effective use of them to identify imbalances and determine priorities, thereby contributing to improved service delivery and strengthening the office’s regulatory and oversight role.
